Meet Jamie, an integral part of our team with a remarkable 9-year journey in the structural steel industry, encompassing diverse projects like cool stores, multi-story buildings, maintenance repairs, seismic strengthening, and mechanical systems. In 2018, Jamie earned a National Certificate in Fabrication Steel Construction and secured the runner-up position for Apprentice of the Year in 2019. With a strong passion for design, Jamie's journey began during their apprenticeship, evolving into a seasoned Structural Designer proficient in multiple software disciplines, GPR Surveying, and 3D Pointcloud surveying. These skills enable precise 3D modeling and fabrication drawings tailored to the construction sector. Jamie's unwavering commitment to innovation drives the team, especially in advancing 3D scanning for seismic strengthening. With a clear vision and dedication to precision, Jamie and the team are reshaping the future of structural design, setting new industry standards.
Johno Williams
Director
As the Managing Director of our sister company, PATTON ENGINEERING, Johno brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from various engineering industries to our new venture, PATTON AS-BUILT. His boundless enthusiasm, energy, and unwavering 'can-do' attitude make Johno your primary source of information and ideas for mechanical, structural, and surface protection projects. Johno's journey began with a strong foundation in Fitting and Turning and Heavy Machining, initially within the forestry industry. He further expanded his expertise by pursuing training and achieving accreditation in various welding disciplines. Building on this foundation, Johno transitioned into overseeing site steel erection and managing maintenance and installation projects.
Andrew Burn
Director
Andrew, also serving as the Managing Director of our sister company, PATTON ENGINEERING, boasts a remarkable 23-year career in the engineering industry, which began in the UK. Upon his return to New Zealand, Andrew dedicated several years to rail yards in Lower Hutt before making his way back to Hawke's Bay. He gained experience at a few smaller engineering firms before finding his professional home at Patton Engineering. For the past fifteen years, Andrew has excelled in his role as Workshop Manager, holding the prestigious AS 2214 qualification as a Welding Supervisor, and actively contributing to our Welding Co-Ordination Team. His welding skills are second to none, and Andrew is a veritable wellspring of welding expertise. In our dynamic and fast-paced work environment, Andrew's methodical nature shines through, providing direction and organization. His unwavering 'can-do' attitude consistently ensures that we meet tight delivery lead-times with precision.
Michael Matillano
Survey Technician
Michael Matillano joins Patton Asbuilt as a Survey/ CAD Technician, bringing a wealth of expertise in project management and resource coordination. With five years in the semiconductor industry, Michael has successfully led operations at MICRON FAB10A and Global Foundries FAB7H, demonstrating strong skills in project organization, financial oversight, and efficient resource management. A licensed Civil Engineer with certifications in workplace safety, construction supervision, and structural design, Michael is well-versed in technical tools like AutoCAD and Revit. His proactive problem-solving approach and structured planning ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. Michael’s commitment to precision and high-quality outcomes makes him an invaluable asset to the Patton Asbuilt team.
Dean Newman
Senior Structural Detailer
Dean Newman joins the Patton Asbuilt team with extensive experience in structural engineering and construction. His background includes specialized skills in multi-level structural projects, Seismic strengthening, petroleum industry work, and bridge and pressure vessel fabrication. Dean as held certifications in welding and AutoCAD, with advanced expertise in 3D modelling software like ProSteel and Tekla. His career includes key supervisory and drafting roles at MJH Engineering and Technical drawing work for Spencer Holmes, where he focused on the Petrochemical industry, running vehicle tracking and explosive atmosphere hazard plans. In 2022, Dean co-founded Linear Detailing ltd to offer structural detailing services to New Zealand’s steel fabricators. An enthusiastic sportsman and optimist, Dean is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects and enhancing client satisfaction at Patton Asbuilt.
